I was diagnosed at a very young age. I was only 28 and just had my fourth child. Google didn't exist, so my only source of information were my doctors at Jackson Memorial Hospital. It was hard, but I came out like a champion! Since then, I promised myself to always help out and volunteer when I can. I was always so grateful for all my family and friends that supported me throughout my journey. Everyday is a blessing and I know that. Thank you for supporting all of us here tonight. Volunteer when you can, it's so important!
For more than 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
