My name is Ana Castro, and I was born in Cuba 51 years ago. I came to Miami in 1996 in hopes of finding better opportunities for myself and for my family. In 2013, I was diagnosed with Leukemia, and my life got flipped upside down. In November of that same year, though, I was given a new shot at life when I was told I would be getting the bone-marrow transplant that ended up saving me. I wouldn't be here today if it weren't for the wonderful doctors, nurses, and personnel in general that helped me through my journey. Thanks to them, along with my friends and family who were constantly by my side, I am here to tell my story and help others write their own.
