I had a lump on my neck and I chose to remove it for cosmetic reasons. Two days later, I was told I had thyroid cancer. Ultimately, I had both sides of my thyroid removed as well as 24 lymph nodes, of which six also had cancer cells. Eight weeks later, I took a radioactive iodine pill which made me radioactive and caused me to be isolated for four days. The purpose was to kill any floater cells in my body. I am a survivor of one year.
