Lisa Lutoff-Perlo is the president and CEO of Celebrity Cruises, a modern luxury cruise line within parent company Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (NYSE: RCL). She also oversees RCL’s Marine Organization, ensuring the safety, security and efficiency of the corporation’s entire fleet of more than 60 ships worldwide.

A 35-year industry veteran and true pioneer, Lisa’s appointment as the first female CEO of a publicly traded cruise company was preceded by many trailblazing appointments. After 20 years of progressive leadership roles, in 2005 she became Celebrity’s first female Senior Vice President of Hotel Operations. In 2012, she was named Executive Vice President of Operations for Royal Caribbean, the first woman in the industry to oversee both hotel and marine operations.

Now, at the helm since 2014, Lutoff-Perlo has helped Celebrity reach unprecedented growth, including historic revenue and operating income levels. The company employs more than 20,000 team members representing 60+ nationalities, and operates 14 ships sailing to 300+ ports around the world. Lisa is recognized throughout the industry as a dynamic leader who leverages innovation and inclusion to drive results. In 2018, she launched the brand’s new Edge Series in partnership with leading architects, designers and engineers to transform the onboard experience for guests and crew. The first ship in the Series – Celebrity Edge – was immediately hailed as a “game-changer” for the cruise industry with its innovative and modern design and was ultimately crowned one of TIME Magazine’s 2019 World’s Great Places.

Lutoff-Perlo is also a cultural catalyst in the maritime industry, passionate about bolstering diversity and equity. She hired the first American female Captain, the first West African woman to ever work on the bridge of a cruise ship, and the first female to navigate the rich archipelago of the Galapagos as Captain. In March of 2020, Celebrity Cruises made maritime history with the first-ever all-female bridge and leadership team. In an industry where only 2% of the world’s mariners are female, Celebrity has grown the percentage of women on their bridge teams from 3% to 27% in just the last five years. Lutoff-Perlo serves on several boards including the Board of Directors of Fortune 500 company AutoNation. She also lends her leadership to a number of philanthropic, business and women’s organizations; and has received numerous prestigious awards for her groundbreaking work and contributions to the maritime, travel and business communities, including the prestigious Eleanor Roosevelt Medal of Honor.

A Boston native, Lutoff-Perlo received her B.S. from Bentley University in Waltham, Mass. She and her husband live in the Fort Lauderdale area.
