The fight against cancer is at risk. It can’t be cancelled, postponed or rescheduled. We need to protect all the hope. The progresses in treatment. The answers. The lives saved.
American Cancer Society attacks cancer from every angle. While we directly impact cancer patients through our service programs, cancer research is more important now than ever. For the first time in history, American Cancer Society’s 100-year mission to save lives and reduce cancer mortality rates is at risk from COVID-19. This pandemic will reduce our funding of cancer research by 50% in 2020 if current trends continue. The lowest investment this century. We are in danger of losing a generation of progress in scientific research and a generation of lifesaving progress if we don’t act now. This year we need your support. Your Hope Bowl 2020 paddle raise donations will further the cause for generations to come by going directly to our cancer research efforts.
For more than a 100 years, The American Cancer Society has been leading the fight to end cancer. With your support, we have helped usher in an era where more people survive cancer than ever before. By translating our research findings into action, we've seen a 20% decline in US cancer death rates since the early 1990s.
